Was a teenager and didn't know any better, but yeah, that's why I don't carry that anymore and have a CHL instead. Without the NRA, Gun Owners of America, TSRA, 50 Caliber Association, and the 2nd Amendment, our gun laws would be just as restrictive as our knife laws. There are no characteristics in my pictured knife kit that is any different from my kitchen knives. You could throw a kitchen knife if you wanted to. I was very careful not to carry a throwing star nor double edged throwing knife. The knife laws are ambiguous. For example, the law also bans bowie knives but doesn't define what a bowie knife is. Again, there are no characterisitcs that make a Bowie knife any different than my kitchen knife. One rumor has it that Jim Bowie used a Butcher knife, the identical knife that I use in my kitchen.AdioSS wrote:the law here doesn't allow carrying knives that are designed to be thrown...

Before I was old enough to qualify for a CHL, I used to carry this set of knives.

I also like to carry a heavy duty folder along with a sharp fixed blade & a gun that most would consider to be large.

Re: Let's talk about knives
Yeah. I don't carry a knife for self-defense either. I carry just a small swiss army knife for utility use. If I'm going to carrying something as heavy as a self-defense knife, I'd rather carry a Kel-Tec P3AT or Ruger LCP instead. Those guns probably weigh less than a stout 5.5 inch full tang fixed blade knife. Any place that bans guns probably bans knives, too; airport, courthouse, etc. As a matter of fact, some places ban knives but not guns; State Fair of Texas, Capitol Building in Austin.Running Arrow Bill wrote:My "knife" is either a 9mm or .40 LOL! As Crocodile Dundee said (paraphrased) to the Gang-bangers... "You call THAT a knife...he draws his LARGE knife from his back waist band... they scattered!!!
