Actually, they're not affiliated in any way with MLB. The American Association, after all, is officially called the "American Association of Independent Professional Baseball". There are currently eight independent baseball leagues in America that have no ties to MLB. The Texas Collegiate League, among other summer leagues for college players, is not professional, even though the level of play and fan experience are pretty similar.

The law, as written, only makes it illegal to carry in the "premises" of a professional sporting event, under the PC 46.035(f)(3) definition, which means a "building or portion of a building".

I don't know about LaGrave Field; if you have to pass through a building to get to the seats, I'd call it off limits. If it's all outdoors, you'd be legal.
