We'll probably have to shoot again in 2 years when we renew online.

Re: Instructor Renewal in Houston
I suspect the 'online' requal will only be in 2015. It does not make sense for DPS to have to run requal classes every 2 years when they can limit it to every 4 years. Just like people that became instructors in 2012, only got a 1 years certificate, they have to requal this year too.

Re: Instructor Renewal in Houston
I think they have had 4 or 5 classes this year. @ 150 per class, we are looking at 600 to 750 instructors that do not need to renew.

Re: Instructor Renewal in Houston
Only 80 people? Was the room full? Could they have taught more or did DPS limit attendance because of venue size?
I figure they need to average 200+ at each renewal class to certify the existing instructor base.

Re: Instructor Renewal in Houston
Well, guys. How did it go? Did you learn anything? Do we have to wait to 'show proficiency' w/other instructors until after we take the class?
Did they say anything about certifying instructors to teach teachers? I understand the teachers will have to take special 15 hours classes. I presume DPS will be able to teach us in 40 hour classes. Hope they will not require 2 weeks. :(
