Re: Instructor Renewal
The instructor submits a LTC 8, roster, showing all students (fellow instructors) in the class (showing proficiency). he can submit the LTC100 for you but it will be in your name, using your email address. I don't remember all the personal information he will need, except your d/l number. Probably e...

Re: Instructor Renewal
We will have to show proficiency with a fellow instructor. The first time we renewed 'online', we did not have to demonstrate proficiency. Since then, ever renewal (every 2 years),we've had to shoot.

Re: Instructor Renewal
It's a 4 year cycle. Every 4 years, we have to attend classes w/DPS (IIRC, we did that last cycle), Every other cycle, we just renew online. We'll probably have to demonstrate proficiency with other LTC instructors. I don't recall there being any extra renewal steps required for instructors certifie...

Re: School Safety Certification Instructor Training Class
They run the students through the LTC proficiency course too. If they can't shoot 90%, they can't continue the training.

Re: LTC-9
My student brought it back to me. DPS said I have to use the LTC101. The shooting proficiency instructor has to sign it twice, once attesting to a 1 to 2 hour gun safety instructions and once to certify the student successfully showed proficiency.

Re: School Safety Certification Instructor Training Class
Did you have to shoot revolver too on the LTC test reshoot? I'm not sure what you are asking. You only need one gun for the School Safety training. If you are renewing your intructor's LTC training certificate, yes, you have to show proficiency with both. I know, We (and teachers taking the SS class...

Re: On line classes have started
I had an online student come get his shooting proficiency with me. He had a copy of the LTC101 from the online provider. I should have filled it out. I elected to fill out the proficiency part of the LTC100 and provide that to him I have done that several times in the past when students have taken t...

Re: On line classes have started
"It's likely that some of the actual instructors are not actually gun guys at all, but work for a company whose owner took the necessary courses to be authorized to sign off on the forms. I would bet that the online process was started by a member of the legislature who was taken to an expensiv...

Re: LTC-9
The LTC101 is for online providers. I am not an online provider. Downloading it requires a password (I did not try the instructor password). In the past, I've submitted LTC100's with just the proficiency when another instructor did the classroom. Never had a problem. If the student had the original ...
