Re: November 2009 Applications
Don't know if they do, but in my hubby's case it matters little since he's both lived and worked in the counties I listed. ;)KingofKaty wrote:Live in Fort Bend County
Work in Harris County
Didn't know they checked your work county.

Re: November 2009 Applications
Collin/Dallas/Grayson counties were listed as places of residence and employment for my husband...three counties and he still got his processed in less than a month. :)

Re: November 2009 Applications
The one we frequent is First Chinese Barbecue in Carrollton/Plano/Richardson (they have several locations around DFW). We crave it. And it's quite a treat because we must drive about 30 minutes to get to one, plus they only take cash. But it sure is good. :) Try the barbecue pork fried rice and any crispy noodle dish. :)USA1 wrote:I didn't even know there was such a thing.randomoutburst wrote:We then went out to eat at a Chinese barbecue
I guess I'll have to do some research on that. Sounds good.

Re: November 2009 Applications
License in hand as of 12-03! We then went out to eat at a Chinese barbecue with a trusted and supportive friend (who hugged my husband, placing his hands on both his gun and extra mags and didn't have a clue), then went to Target and bought some groceries and board games. Fun night!

Made no difference for us, there was nothing in the mail but payment reminders for student loans today. -_-KingofKaty wrote:So you don't want to leave the house unarmed?randomoutburst wrote:No dice for us either. I am leaving for the airport this morning so I have to wait until Thursday.
If it's not there tomorrow...!!

Re: November 2009 Applications
Cutest thing - we checked the mail twice today just to be sure, and as we're driving back from our weekly Target shopping he very meekly goes, "I guess there's no point in checking it again today..."
Awwww. I hope it comes tomorrow, he's so anxious to get it. :)

Nope. All we had was a crummy Netflix ad featuring holiday specials. -_- We're hopeful for tomorrow though!KingofKaty wrote:No joy in the mailbox tonight. The holiday will add an extra day or two to the time.
Anyone else approved last week get their license yet?

Re: November 2009 Applications
Thanks much. I actually just went back and read some previous posts - congrats on your (even speedier) CHL issuance! Hope you have as much fun breaking in your holster as I imagine my husband is going to have breaking in his holster too. I got it for him as a gift since he had applied for the CHL and now he has an excuse to break it in with the impending plastic in the mail...;) He jumped up and down and giggled like a little girl when I told him his status had changed.KingofKaty wrote:Congrats Randomburst! I would guess nobody is working at DPS on CHLs on Thanksgiving. So likely the status changed yesterday. By my count that makes 7 or 8 forum members who were all approved on Wednesday. Kudos to DPS for pushing applications out the door!

Re: November 2009 Applications
WHOA! My hubby's status just changed to approved and license issued!! That's 28 days from application mailed to approval! Only 24 days from the time they received it! We are VERY pleased and impressed. We thought we'd be lucky to get it before Christmas but it looks like we'll have it the first week of December at the latest!
This forum does indeed bring good luck...
