This happened in Houston on June 27, 2012 at around 8:30 am, so I'm sorry if there is already a post on this.

Guy went crazy at an apartment complex on Hollister, shot and wounded four people there, then car jacked several cars. HPD caught up with him, so he began exhanging fire with the officer behind him including putting his car in reverse and smashing the patrol car.

The chase ends up on the service road of 290 with as many as six police cars in chase, he is still shooting at them from his moving car.

Apparently the chase ends in a gigantic multicar pile up during rush hour on the service road. He dies here.

I heard from a friend who offices right near where it happened, that afterwards the police found 80 shell casings on the ground at the final shoot out.

Compliments are in order to the police. This appears to be an intense urban shoot out with an individual who had no care for his life or anyone elses, situated on a crowded service road filled with civilians, yet only the BG is killed and no one else is injured from gunfire. Well done.
