My Wife can hit a target quite well and has been to a range once. But she is still uncormfortable with a gun. I will do whatever it takes for her to be as good or better than I am with a weapon/weapons. Just gotta remember not to make her mad. What is gonna happen if you are, ummmm playing cards at a buddies house. She is home alone with the kids. I am not fussing, we tend to get more range practice and more training than our Wives because "she can barely shoot". It is just a matter of training and practice. And you are right, she would be the one that I want to call 911, since I am the one to get out of bed and check things out. This is one of the conversations best had over a beer or around the campfire.

Just curious, what is your Wife's roll in this? I had never thought about it till I read it in last months combat handgun. Why not take a tactical course with your Wife as your partner? Who better to cover your 6 and dial 911. With a intruder covered from 2 directions it is less likely to do something stupid and if it rushes one or the other it can be caught in the crossfire. In Mama Lotties time the whole family fought together children reloading and Daddy Fred and Mamma Lottie did the fighting. I have 4 children and will do anything to stack the odds in my families favor. Just a thought.
