I called DPS today, apparently the 2nd license was because my weight on the first one was listed incorrectly. So, from the time I received the 1st to the time the 2nd one was received I lost 10lbs.

I wish it was really that easy to lose 10lbs. in 2 weeks.

Again, hope all of yall get your licenses soon. Skipper5, I charge a small fee, but if need be I'll call DPS for you to speed up the process.

For all those who are waiting over 60 days, I figured out why the process is so slow............DPS is too busy sending me an additional license. I received my initial license in the mail about 2 weeks ago, today I received another one in the mail. Anyone know if this is standard practice, or is this just a mistake?

Either way, I guess I have a backup if I lose one.

Hope all you guys who are waiting gets yours soon! I know waiting is not that much fun.

Just received that pretty little card in the mail today.

Feb 23rd - application rec'd
Mar 23rd - website updated to "processing application"
April 28th - website updated to "license issued"
May 1st - license received

68 days door to door.

That sucks. I guess it's just luck of the draw who you get both on the phone and who's handling your app.

Nothing came in the mail for me yet.

I used the phone number on the webpage that shows your status. I called it and kept pressing "0" until I got someone on the phone. Let me know if you can't find the number and I'll look it up.

Yea, it may be slowed up since they have to verify your criminal background in multiple counties..........I've lived in Harris county the last 6 years.

So the Red Raider wins. Both of our applications were received on the same day. Bah, I wonder how much longer I'm going to have to wait.

I called them yesterday and talked to the guy processing mine, I was very polite and took the approach of "hey I just wanted to make sure you guys have everything you need, I think yall have had my app over 2 months, just wanted to make sure there was nothing missing." It worked, at the end of our conversation he said he would issue the license that day. Give it a try.

Website just showed this, whooooo hooooo, I'm at day 64. Guess I'll probably get in the mail on Monday.

Guess there's an open seat in the waiting room if anyone needs it.

Just curious, do they typically respond to email inquiries within the same day?

Looks like we're both in the same boat, they received mine on Feb. 23rd too. Who will get theirs first, the Red Raider or the Aggie?

While we all patiently waiting, I just thought I'd ask, how many times a day do you check to see if your status has changed on the website. I think I check atleast 10 times. I guess I should remove the word patiently from my first sentence.
