Hey its our pal RedRaider...ah rub in it....not only you received 1...now you received a 2nd one!....It was that phone call that really got you on good with them....I may have you call for me...! lol....
I called DPS today, apparently the 2nd license was because my weight on the first one was listed incorrectly. So, from the time I received the 1st to the time the 2nd one was received I lost 10lbs. I wish it was really that easy to lose 10lbs. in 2 weeks.

Again, hope all of yall get your licenses soon. Skipper5, I charge a small fee, but if need be I'll call DPS for you to speed up the process.

skerbo wrote:I called the 800 number and after a while of being on hold I talked to a lady that worked there. She said my application was received on Feb 27, I have a return receipt that begs to differ (Feb 23), and that a should wait till next week as "it's almost done." I don't know what that means but she wasn't as polite as most people here have said. I hate to be a naysayer, but I didn't even get my first sentance out before she cut me off with "What's your social?" I remained polite and gave her some slack though, because I know that answering phones for something like that is a pretty harsh job.

my $0.02
That sucks. I guess it's just luck of the draw who you get both on the phone and who's handling your app.

Nothing came in the mail for me yet. Hopefully Monday.

skerbo wrote:Which phone number are you guys using? My buddy at work just called and he got a recording saying to write an email or snail-mail letter.

ETA: I've also lived in College Station, Midland, Austin, and Conroe within the last 5 years so I may be waiting for each of the local guys in those counties to get back to the Austin guys in order to finish my background check.
I used the phone number on the webpage that shows your status. I called it and kept pressing "0" until I got someone on the phone. Let me know if you can't find the number and I'll look it up.

Yea, it may be slowed up since they have to verify your criminal background in multiple counties..........I've lived in Harris county the last 6 years.

Website just showed this, whooooo hooooo, I'm at day 64. Guess I'll probably get in the mail on Monday.

Guess there's an open seat in the waiting room if anyone needs it.
So the Red Raider wins. Both of our applications were received on the same day. Bah, I wonder how much longer I'm going to have to wait.
Skerbo,

I called them yesterday and talked to the guy processing mine, I was very polite and took the approach of "hey I just wanted to make sure you guys have everything you need, I think yall have had my app over 2 months, just wanted to make sure there was nothing missing." It worked, at the end of our conversation he said he would issue the license that day. Give it a try.

Just curious, do they typically respond to email inquiries within the same day?

Looks like we're both in the same boat, they received mine on Feb. 23rd too. Who will get theirs first, the Red Raider or the Aggie?

While we all patiently waiting, I just thought I'd ask, how many times a day do you check to see if your status has changed on the website. I think I check atleast 10 times. I guess I should remove the word patiently from my first sentence.
