Don't own the 45acp yet, but I soon will, its on my purchasing block (damn, another gun, good thing I'm not married). I have shot one though and must say I really like it, which is why I'm going to sell my 40 service and replace it with a 45acp.

I do own an XD 9MM sub and a 40 Service and love both, no failured to date on either one (approximately 1,000 rounds through 9MM and 1,500 rounds in the 40).

Good luck with you decision, you definently can't go wrong with the XD.
