1911 gun work
Houston area: looking for a gunsmith to put checkering on the front & back strap of my stainless 1911A1 as well as a dovetail front sight. It's a milspec one with the front sight pegged in place and I'd like to change that.

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
I keep it simple: my first name is Mark and I'm originally from Newfoundland, that big block of rock on the farthest eastern Canadian edge of North America.

Re: Pistol Caliber Carbine Roundup
For 2 years, I tried to find a 45ACP carbine that would work. I'm not interested in thousands for a boat-anchor thompson or H&K unicorn. Without getting into specifics, I tried all the usual options and not one came close to working reliably if at all. To that end, we all laugh and make fun of H...

Re: Frangible rounds
I really would like to try it as much as it would be for an experiment as well as to run any firearm within 10 yards or so from a steel target. I agree that the projectiles are costly, though I'd still be saving heaps by making my own ammo.

Re: New CZ 75B SA
Nice. I have never been able to do well at all with DA/SA pistols, though I do like me some CZ. I seem to recall the mags being a bit pricey, though. I always thought the P01 Omega was kinda cool. I celebrated my citizenship with Texas BBQ and 16 hours of blissful drinking in 'support' of my crossov...

Frangible rounds
I was thinking about doing up some frangible rounds for some typical calibers in order to shoot steel at closer distances....say in 9mm, 45ACP, and 223/556 AR15. Anybody have any experience with these suckers? Any issues with feeding? I read that crimping is sketchy sometimes, but that's about it.

Re: What Did You Do In The Reloading Room This Week?
Pulled apart my Dillon 650 for cleaning and lubing. Made a eeeeeuuge difference in feel and operation. Also cleaned up a few die sets that I use a lot. No reloading this past couple of weeks.

Re: What Did You Do In The Reloading Room This Week?
Fairly busy week. Cleared backlog of brass cleaining, got a Lyman #55 powder drop (my first manual one), and powder coated a pile of 230gr RN boolits that I cast about a month ago. https://www.texaschlforum.com/download/file.php?mode=view&id=9526 https://www.texaschlforum.com/download/file.php?m...

Re: WTS: DSA FAL package deal
I don't recall the exact model number, but it's a traditional SA58 with the fixed stock but with the slightly shorter barrel, so not the 21" one.
