Re: NRA on H.R. 5175 - The Disclose Act

I agree with Charles in that the NRA would by not cutting a deal, likely end up eventually spending member dues or other donations in an effort to negate the effects of this bill if it indeed passes in some form. If anyone would like to have an entertaining read, I strongly suggest reading section 2...

Re: another Plaxico type event

This is off-topic, but does pertain to Seattle. I was talking with a family member who lives in Seattle and works for Microsoft. He related that is is quite commonplace to see crack heads openly smoking crack cocaine on the street even in "good" or downtown type areas. If I recall correctl...

Re: Bad Guys are heavily armed in Houston

my general somewhat informed sentiment is this - 1. horrible for the kid that died, the family, and the first responders who had to deal with that situation. 2. there are a lot of scum bags out there. 3. these scum bags tend to live in concentrations. 4. these concentrations tend to be apartment com...

Re: New & Reloaded Ammo Sources - Houston Area

I purchased about 2500 rounds from Collins Cartridge Company and honestly so far I have had 0 FTF or other issues with their ammo. it was all fmj .40 and 9mm. I've shot perhaps 1200 or so so far. They are quite easy to deal with as well - you can avoid shipping charges and just swing by for pre-arra...

Re: Unsafe areas

I guess I should have specified "hot" areas ... not entire cities. I am trying to put together a list of areas that should be avoided as best as you can. If it can keep one person from having to deal with a cruddy area than it will have served it purpose. I understand that things happen i...

Re: PA CHL is a bit primative

I don't know what the Delaware county pa sheriff's requirements are, but when I was a resident there I just went, filled out a form and within 2 weeks got a photo id license back - resident of course. PA is a real Shall issue state - unlike tx. PA actually follows their own law (outside Philly/Pitts...

Re: single-stack DAO 9mm compact roundup

I've had a PPS 9mm for about 6-7 months now and have had 0 failure to fires or other issues. When I go to the range I typically put about 3-400 rounds through it. I'd estimate I have about 1500ish rounds through it right now and have been quite pleased. I've put a variety of ammo through it includin...

UC Davis study - gun shows

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but here it goes. http://www.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/newsroom/releases/wintemute9-2009/index.html UC Davis released a "study" entitled: " Inside Gun Shows: What goes on when everybody thinks nobody's watching" I haven't had a chance...
