Thanks Andy! I had it resting on a jack stand on the slab in the garage. Only soft part was the small towel to keep it protected.AndyC wrote:http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php?topic=28151.0

SKS Bolt: Firing Pin Retainer Stuck
I bought an SKS recently and on the third range trip I had a FTF that is now known to be caused by a stuck firing pin. Closer observation shows that the firing pin Retainer has some interesting deformations (post pics when I get home). I've tried using a hammer and punch and cannot remove the retain...

Re: When to start chl renewal??
Seeing it takes DPS some processing time I do not believe he can wait until Sept but should go ahead and get it done. Will it not be like the driver's license renewal with an e-mail confirmation and temporary certificate? When I changed my address online and paid my fee I would assume that the conf...

Slight hijack but on topic...
I have the Magpul sling and my rifle sits uncomfortably in front of my hip and knees and is awkward when walking. Do I just need to fiddle with it some more? I have it installed with their ASAP plate.

Re: Who is more American?
I like Usain Bolt like everyone else, but more United Statesian than a United Statesian? I dunno if that's actually possible. A lot of Hispanic immigrants bring their respect for their home country to the US. That's cool. But at the games? A little out of place methinks. Seriously Jim, people have b...

Re: "The View" - gun control poll
This poll is encouraging. Maybe people are tired of violence and crime and are finally getting the message that more gun control isn't the answer. Or this and any number of pro gun forums got wind of it and changed the results in our favor. I'd like that to not be the case but I have my doubts. Eve...

Re: Had to(?) show my G19 ... I think ...
A scary situation indeed. I had an interesting thing happen to me about a year ago. Heading south on 45 just past I-10 where the left and right lanes exit. It's a known area for slow traffic and hot headed drivers racing down the exit only lane. It's bumper to bumper and a guy comes flying down the ...

Re: Thoughts on what to carry for small framed people.
I'm 5'10" and 135 lbs and I carry a commander 1911. It's all about the forward cant for me. I wear slightly longer shirts now to help with the concealing. I don't think large frame pistols are hard to conceal at all, it's the weight that gets at you in the beginning.

Re: Fun with the TSA
Why did you leave your holster on during the body scan? Did you leave your belt and shoes on too? :headscratch I will preface my response with this: I'm legitimately interested and am not being sarcastic. Do you do everything the TSA asks because they ask it or because it makes sense? I never take ...

Certainly paints a negative image of gun owners.
There was a girl in highshool I didn't care for. I saw her car crooked in a space and grabbed a big yellow bumper sticker out of my glove box. It read, "I park like an idiot .com". She didn't find it very humorous. Neither did the principal.

I think your title is a bit misleading. Import tariffs have long been used to protect domestic interests. I think what's really at the heart of the issue here (Flame Suit) is that the article has the President's name on it.

Re: Will SCOTUS strike down the Affordable Healthcare Law
You don't have to have car insurance if you're driving on your own property, correct? I assumed it was only a requirement because you are using a public road, paid for by other taxpayers. But maybe we'll have to purchase liability health insurance to protect each other from our own missteps.

Re: Starbucks on 2/14/12
I sent Starbucks a brief response pledging my support. I have one every now and again but I like the gift card idea best of all. My family members drink more coffee than I do, so at least I can support their craving and a semi-pro-2A establishment at the same time.

Re: Extermely un-nerving encounter.....
I'm not criticizing or condemning saying you're hypocritical at all, but I think you might have overreacted just a tad. I also understand your psychological reason for that reaction. No one likes a gun pointed at them whether it's just laying there on the table unloaded all by its lonesome or in so...
