Re: First time flying with CCW:overall good
I keep the ammo separate when I fly just so there is now questions about a loaded gun. Some places (like California) would consider that a loaded gun and you might be treated badly. And a manufatures box is a good idea. I had a problem once when I used plastic reloading boxes even-though it's totall...

Re: Houston mom splats bad guy
So negative... What a horrible thing to happen to anyone. I'm just glad her and her son where okay. Lesson learned; maybe we should be carrying our guns at home as well as outside. Killing someone isn't a lot of fun and can mess with you the rest of your life. I'm glad she didn't have to go through ...

Re: Close call in parking lot
No one goes to a parking lot to hand out a flier to only one person and one car. Something was up, or your wife missed something else happening.
Your wife did a nice job of not rolling down the window and nothing happened. We all like those outcomes.

Re: Pocket carry options
The Karh and Colt are the originals, but other things have come a long way. You should reconsider the Kel-Tec. I've been carrying one for years now and it is great. If you still would like something else, I'd stay away from the Bersa, it bites, if you have big hands. Beretta makes some great pocket ...

Re: Fiance doesn't think she needs a gun
Try and get her around guns and gun people (not psycos at gun shops or gun shows). Try signing up for a local IDPA match and taking her to watch (not participate). This is a long term thing. Find a good instructor, not you. I'm an instructor and my wife won't learn from me. If you can get her to go ...

Re: The new Ruger AR style SR-556
The Ruger is a great gun. I think it's heavy for me, but most Rugers are unbreakable. As for the price, you aren't going to get an HK for that price (a little while ago that's about the price their piston uppers are going for), but you can get almost anything else. If you like the Ruger, go for it. ...

Re: 911 tape released - why we own guns!!
I'm a gun guy, Marine, and Government Security Contractor, I really don't mind putting down bad guys. I don't want my wife or loved ones to have to do it. If you haven't killed someone yet it stays with you, and haunts you forever (well 6 years and counting). This lady did what needed to be done to ...

Re: CHL weapon question
She already said she was giving it to me the poor thing has such small hands its unfortunate she cant carry one of the best carry pistols on the market. Oh well she wants the Kahr This is why we guys need to stop buying the pistols we like for our girls. We need to find out what fits their hands, b...

Re: What's the Origin of Your User Name?
Expat stands for Expatriate. I was called an expatriate when I went to work for the government in Iraq as a private contractor. I have no idea why you are an expatriate, I don't love my country any less. I guess it is just what the contracting world is calling people now. Ben is my first name. Easy
