Congrats!!! It seems that ever since I got my license, I've reduced my alcohol consumption dramatically. . I haven't touched alcohol while going out ever since I got my license because I've been carrying everywhere. My girlfriend wasn't so enthusiastic when I first started carrying but now encourages it because I don't drink (not that I drink much in the first place). The past week, my friends have been asking me why I haven't been drinking, to which I reply, "I'm on antibiotics".lazypineapple wrote:Plastic came 2day

Re: May 2009 Applications
Well, I called DPS for the first and only time on Aug. 31st and was told that the license was out for printing. My status changed to complete on Sept. 3rd. I received the license (according to my roomate b/c I was out of town) on Sept. 11th. That was my timeline.neilp wrote:dklag - do you have any idea how long the printing process took from start to finish?
Thanks

Re: May 2009 Applications - Being Printed?
When I called DPS and inquired about my status, they told me it was out for printing as well. The following week, my status changed to "application complete license active" (not exact wording, sorry, but I think you know what I mean). Then it took 6 days for them to actually mail the license and I received it 2 days later. FYI, that was just my time table.neilp wrote:Seeing all these May applications being completed had me a little impatient. Not to mention the June and July apps being completed too! So I called DPS last week and was told my application was being reviewed. I was forwarded to the reviewer's voicemail and told to wait 48 hours for a response. Having received no response I called again today and was told that my license had been sent for printing. After confirming that this means I'm approved, I asked how long until I recieve it. I was told that it could take up to a month. I asked about the web site still stating "processing application" and was told that will not change until the license is in the mail.
While I don't have any plastic yet I'm pleased that it's approved and progress is being made. I'm hoping that the month estimate was deliberately pessimistic so I'm not calling them every other day.
I hope yours follows this time line or faster.

My roomate told me it came this past Saturday and it was postmarked 9/9/09. Application complete on 9/3 and it took until 9/9 for them to actually mail it! But at least the wait is finally over!

Re: May 2009 Applications
One would think it would be a great way to get my mind off the waiting list, but as you can see, even while in California, I keep coming back...Roan wrote:Well now, there is a great way to get your mind off the waitning list..... But yes. What sucks is that I've been waiting to receive my plastic all this time, yet it's probably arrived and I'm still waiting... Does this factor into my "waiting time"?

Re: May 2009 Applications
Congratulations to everyone that received their plastic. I can't wait to get back from California. I hope that my license will be at home waiting for me when I get back.
On another note, I had an interesting talk with my twin brother, who is a Long Beach Police Officer, on the law abiding citizen's right to carry (properly licensed of course). And we all know how California gun laws are. The general law abiding citizens don't have any way to obtain a license to carry (generally speaking). I was a little disappointed about his views but that's a whole other topic. Be safe out there guys!

Re: May 2009 Applications
Well, I went home during my lunch break to check the mail and the darn mailman hadn't dropped off the mail yet. So now I have to wait until AFTER work to check the mail. --> --> -->dklag37 wrote:Thanks Joe.joe817 wrote:Keep the faith buddy. As I opened the mailbox with great anticipation, I reached in and grabbed everything and started flipping through all the mail. Bill, bill, ads, bill, bill, bill, and then........nothing. I went into the house dejected. Still waiting...
