Re: FNH Five-seveN
Actually I was thinking about buying it not for me but for my better half. She is a lefty and really liked the feel of the Five-seveN. It is light, with little recoil and she really liked the location of the safety. I don’t think she really cares about cool factor. It was just one of her options for a Christmas gift. I ended up buying her a sub compact Sig P250 9mmblu46and2 wrote:Perhaps they are myths (and maybe you're willing to take that chance) but if you read enough Massad Ayoob then you'd know that he believes otherwise. Why take the chance. I carry a Glock 19 with Hydra-Shoks...that's 31 rounds of 9MM...if that's not enough to defend yourself you're not going to make it out of that situation, or to your rifle (first choice for self defense) alive anyway. I might have missed it but why would you want to carry a 5-7 for self defense anyway? Magazine capacity? Cool factor?Keith B wrote:These are for the most part myths as there has never been any test cases to prove it. The only one I am aware of is the case in Arizona where the individual was carrying a 10mm and they found him guilty (can't remember the name). That was just a case of poor defense by his lawyers.blu46and2 wrote:You could be opening yourself up to lawsuits carrying that kind of weapon for self defense if you ever had to use it. The same way you would with a gun with hair trigger, armor piercing rounds, etc.
(This can be converted to other calibers). We took it to the range yesterday and it is a sweet shooter. We both love it, but of course it is her gift.

Re: FNH Five-seveN
Thanks guys,
That was a little more helpful. I think I will stick to the tried and true. It seams there would be too much of a chance of someone innocent getting hit in case, God forbid, I had to use it.

Re: FNH Five-seveN
The question still is; what happens to the bullet? I know what my Golden Saber JHP is designed to do, what does this bullet do once it enters?

Re: FNH Five-seveN
Good info so far, Thanks. I did hear that the ammo was feast or famine. I am also looking at the Sig P250, any one have any experience with this pistol?

FNH Five-seveN
I am thinking of buying a Five-seven for a carry. I am hearing different information, some say the slug tumbles and there is little chance it will exit and hit someone else. I have also heard that the bullet will just go right through because of its high velocity. Does anyone have any good information about this gun?
