Re: Embarrassing incident

Glad you got your gun back! Or found it at least. That sounds like something I would do, so no judgments here. I have looked at those console vaults and they look really nice. Great solution if you frequently have to disarm and leave you gun in the vehicle. I very rarely have to do this. I took a co...

Re: Gloves while shooting?

I don't like shooting gloves. A couple of weeks ago I did a training class that used simunition and I was advised to wear gloves as folks get shot in the hands a lot. I think that is the only time I have ever worn gloves while shooting.

be cautious traveling to Juarez

Things have been getting dicey on the border again and I'm guessing this will get zero national coverage. Stay out of Mexico if possible and keep alert.

Re: Thoughts on open carry

I tried OC a bit after the law changed. I only had positive experiences with both people and LEOs. I got a lot of looks, but usually they were accompanied by a thumbs up or people would come over and strike up conversation. After trying it for awhile, it really isn't for me, and I only CC now. I can...

Re: Work carry VS off work carry

My carry changes depending on my mood. At work, when I have to be very concealed, I have been carrying a S&W 340 PD in an alien gear IWB holster. As I have gotten older, weight annoys me much more than it used to. The airweights are hard to beat for comfort. I always carry a benchmade SOCP and a...

F1 Firearms

I am considering a .300 AAC pistol from F1 Firearms. I have looked on-line for reviews and am not seeing a lot. Does anyone here have any experience with them? They seem to be nicely built and I like that they are in Texas, but I want to hear from a user with a few rounds down the barrel. Thanks!

Re: Tim Kennedy is ridiculous

In Tim's defense, I took a three day course with his Sheepdog Response group a couple of years ago. He was personally training and rolling with guys on the mat and he impressed me as a really good guy. Very passionate about what he was doing and his mission. He is very pro-police and military obviou...

Re: Curious as to what the instructors/“experts” carry?

I do one pistol or carbine course every year and I always make note of what the instructors use. Glocks seem to be far and away the favorite. I have seen a couple of HK VP9s lately but from what I have seen, it seems to be about 80% glocks. Two year ago I did a class with an instructor who was using...

There is a huge amount of truly obscene material on YouTube that seems to be protected under the umbrella of "free speech". Unfortunately, for the left, "free speech" only includes what they agree with. Umm, free speech only applies to the government. You tube can squash whateve...

Re: Is the .40 dead?

I don't think .40 is dead. Heck, you can still buy a case of .25acp. No doubt, 9mm will remain the standard as more departments and agencies migrate back to it, but I don't anticipate having problems securing .40 ammo anytime soon.
