CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!PSLOwner wrote:I was out of town for Thanksgiving and when I got my mail this morning, my license was in the mail! 59 days for Harris county, that appears to be pretty quick. I went to Hot Wells Shooting Range for the class and they handled all the prints, photos and paperwork, so that helped move things on a LOT I bet.
Now, when and where to carry?
Class 9/23/2009
Pin 10/15/2009
License Mailed 11/24/2009
In my hot little hands on 11/28/2009

Re: September 2009 Applications
Sorry to tell you but it's probably too early to assume anything. Mine went from processing to approved in about 10 days, but my dads was processing for over a month before he found out that the FBI rejected his prints.....Just keep patient friendjsimmons wrote:Well, a week has passed since my app went to "processing", and this morning it still reads "Processing application".
Can I safely assume that if the status hasn't changed to reflect a problem by now then there is no problem with the basic paperwork? I know it might take the FBI a little while longer to get around to rejecting prints, but shouldn't the DPS have decided by now that something needed to be fixed for their own purposes?

Re: September 2009 Applications
Yeah...i'd be pretty much furious...Really sorry to hear itES4Me wrote:Found out today that the STATE sent the wrong forms to the CHL instructor - seems they sent him some forms that were not to be used until after Sept. 1 without indicating as such and our class was on Aug 22. Now the State has to send the "old" forms to our instructor so he can issue the correct ones. The State is sending our application packets back so we can resend with the correct forms. I figure this will delay everything by at least 6 weeks.
We were in a large class - so there are about 30 or so people other than me and my DH who are in the same boat. Wish the State would just say "Oh - sorry!" and just process the blasted applications!

I thought mine would take longer being form the Houston area, I am so glad it didn’t drag on.
Thanks for all your support. I will be around to shoot the crap with you; I’m not leaving just joining the ranks of the accepted.

Don't be too hard on them...they were good to mestevo wrote:Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but recently sent off my application for my CHL. Class was taken 09-12-2009, app mailed to DPS 09-14-2009 and was delivered 09-16-2009. I have been assigned a PIN and check it more than I should each day, waiting for the status to change. Hopefully it isn't too long of a wait, but hey we're talking about DPS here.
Seriously though, Welcome to the forum!!!!

Re: September 2009 Applications
Yeah, it takes forever....I got mine in the mail about 10 days after it changed back to processing if that puts it in perspective LOL81aggie wrote:From what I've seen it could take up to 4 weeks for the status to change to "processing". As I understand it when it arrives at DPS it is part of the backlog, when someone actually starts working on it the status will change. Mailed mine a little over a week ago, been checking the status every day even though I know it won't change for a while. Just playing the waiting game At least this forum is helping to make the wait bearablescm wrote:Mailed my app out 9/10 via return recp. says received at DPS but the site still shows Application Mailed out. how long before they update this?
