Yep, it was a surprise ok from the boss (wifey).

As for a holster, I dont know as yet, I really never knew that there were so many types of holsters you could pick from.
I would like on that would set up high on the outside. Im looking at all of them and following the reviews that people have posted.
Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated.

This question is a little off post but I was wondering what everyone is going to be carrying?
I finally broke down and bought myself a new present, a new Kimber Ultra Carry 45 ACP.
My other pistols are fairly large frame so I wanted to keep it low and out of the way.

Glad to see that the State is continuing to send out the CHL's.

Hi All

I have been monitoring (lurking) here for the past few weeks when I first found this site. Interesting topics and comments. As I read the wait time issues, I asked myself, oh what have I got myself infor... It was not this bad to get a license in Puerto Rico where you almost need to turn in your first born to get a license.. Then I saw the wait time. I figured that this might be a very long wait.
Well I was suprised when I checked the page and it said Application Completed - License issued or Certificate active.... I could not beleive it.

I have to beleive they are moving as fast as they can given the constrants of state goverment and rules, procedures etc. It has to be like a sweat shop there with all of us calling in to check on our status. I did not want to try that as I thought It would be bad luck for me.

From what I have heard from people I know in Austin, is they have picked up the pace and its starting to show. I hope the others here will be processed very soon.
