Things are getting a bit heated. It is understandable. For many years I voted independently by judging each candidate on his/her platform. I did not see their party affiliation as meaning they had no independent action. It did seem to me that in those days, there were a lot of moderate and even conservative democrats in office. Not now.

When Obamacare was forced through I felt a deep seated conviction the party had gone too far. Not because I thought we don't need to do something about medical costs, but because what they came up with was a travesty forced through against all reason and contained a staggeringly massive cost that would do far more harm than good. It would grow government power like nothing in history and that was obviously their real goal.

Since Sandy Hook, I have read countless gun control laws introduced all over our nation by the dems and seen the laws actually forced through by them every single place where they held enough power no matter how loud the objections or unfair the law. It's been like watching a flash mob suddenly arise that wants to take your very life simply because it has realized maybe it can and you are the only thing standing in it's way to total domination.

Our nation needs the two parties to be balanced so that people on both sides have fair representation. I see that balance is being murdered by the media in groupthink with the dems. When the Democratic Party has enough control everywhere, it will destroy America. You may be able to marry whatever sex you want, smoke whatever you want, end as many babies at whatever stage you wish, but you will eat, drink, drive, buy, say, live, wear, work, earn, have, and do only what and where you are allowed. If an evil person wants to take your life, the lives of your loved ones, or rape your daughters in front of you, you will not be allowed to defend yourself or them. If the cops don't get there in time, too bad for you. It's preferable to be a victim. It's preferable for everyone to be victims and seek always the succor of the father government. If you have children, they will belong to the state to train in the same thinking. All of these are their own ideas taken from the laws I have seen them trying to pass and the words that come out of their mouths daily. I have no wish to offend any democrat gun owner on this board. I do respect the rights of others to have differing opinions, but it seems like there is no longer a level playing field when one party has the media in it's hip pocket and the schools spouting its platform.

Sign me up as a person who regrets EVER giving this party one single vote even for dog catcher. I am not as articulate as Tam, but I sorely understand his frustration.

So what you guys are saying is you are not all democrats and the pure emotional appeal of this idea has not transferred straight to your convictions without one iota of examination?

Good afternoon, I'm Paul R. Beane and I'm your right wing gun nut.
It is the responsible gun owners of today that is being blamed for all the shootings. Obama calls us the right wing gun nuts, clinging to our guns and to our religion.
But lets take a little closer look. The Fort Hood shooter, a Muslim, and a registered Democrat. The Virginia Tech shooter, he wrote hate mail to George Bush and his staff and was a registered Democrat. Aurora Colorado shooter, he was a staff worker on the Obama campaign and took part in Occupy Wall Street. He was a progressive liberal and guess what? A registered Democrat. The Newtown, Conn shooter hated Christians and was a registered Democrat. The Columbine high school shooters were too young to vote, but both of their families were progressive liberals and registered Democrats.
And one more thing, not a single one of these killers were members of the National Rifle Association. So I have got it figured out how to make this country much safer; leave the guns alone and lock up all the Democrats.
