Re: Need a more clear understanding please...

Just wanted to give an update of what I've found out. I wrote Alicia Tripp an email and almost instantly she wrote me back, on a holiday weekend! What a dedicated person! I explained everything I've said here and she responded with "They are not prohibited by statute to require you to register ...

Re: Need a more clear understanding please...

Sensors are not enough. There are three parts connected with AND. The secured area has to be monitored, not open to the public, AND contain the physical plant. That is a good point. I guess I didn't read it like that, but your saying to qualify, the parking lot has to meet ALL of those requirments,...

Re: Need a more clear understanding please...

My only reservation is that sub section iii says that if the ingress is constantly monitored then they CAN restrict you from bringing a gun on the property. Is that the correct understanding? If so, then their being nice by allowing it as long as you register with them, because there are sensors tha...

Re: Need a more clear understanding please...

The Annoyed Man, the company, to my knowledge, is a subsidiary of a major oil company. So, they are going to be in line with the corporate America. As I stated before, it didn't seem that they minded if you brought a gun onto the premises, just that they wanted to know who was bringing and what they...

A refinery can prohibit an employee from having a gun in their vehicle it the parking area meets certain requirements: (F)property owned or leased by a chemical manufacturer or oil and gas refiner with an air authorization under Chapter 382, Health and Safety Code, and on which the primary business...

Re: Need a more clear understanding please...

He was terminated.

I think the registration part fell under the terms of "could restrict access." But, I don't know for sure, that's why I'm asking. :tiphat:

Need a more clear understanding please...

I thought I understood the latest of the Texas gun laws, but I want to ask and make sure because mine as well as other's jobs could be on the line. I was under the understanding that the latest law allowed an individual, whether a CHL holder or not, to stow a weapon in their personal car in the empl...

Drug Testing for Welfare Applicants

Drug Testing for Welfare Applicants This idea is the type of thing that needs to be held up in this country. If anyone wants’ anytime of government assistance, they need to be subjected to drug testing to start the assistance and random drug testing while they are on assistance. For those who might...

Re: Hasta la Vista, Netflix

Netflix On The Rocks I hate to see that most of this is self inflicted. I think they literally shot themselves in the foot with the greedy price hikes and wishy-washy announcements. I think we all know the key to keeping a business viable is not to ask more than the market can bear and to be reliab...

Re: WWYD???

Like Purplehood said, there are all kinds of variations of this and you never know both sides of the story, so it's probably in your BEST intrest to stay removed from the situation and be a witness only. Things that would be running through my mind is if I do get involved and end up shooting someone...

California Salon Shooting Rampage

My wife was heading to the hair salon today with my 6 yr. old daughter and I just so happened to be scanning Fox News and found this . So my wife, who isn't necessarily anit-gun toting, but really doesn't care a thing about totting one herself, says, "Wow, that's scary. That's weird to think th...

Re: Hasta la Vista, Netflix

I went to the streaming only option about 5 min. ago. I'm not sure that I'm ready to give up on them and go back to Blockbuster who has been raping people for years with their outrageous late fees and such. I am going to be watching Amazon Prime to see what their movie selection looks like. Going ba...

Re: Carfax

I had two seperate incidents with one of my cars, both back around 2001-2002. Neither one of the incidents shows up on the car fax report. I had the work done at a local, reputable body shop. Maybe they didn't report to Carfax back then, I'm not sure. But to answer your question, there is a possibil...
