I think they are trying to stall. Figuring they can run out the clock for this year.ELB wrote: ↑Wed Apr 28, 2021 3:42 pm https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021 ... arry-bill/
Well about bloody time.On April 27, 2021, Abbott told WBAP radio that he will sign the legislation if it reaches his desk.
Abbott said, “Once the Senate passes it out, the House and Senate will convene and work out any differences and get it to my desk. And I’ll be signing it.”
And I note he said "Once the Senate passes it out..." Not "If." I hope he knows something I don't.

Good! My senator is Kolkhorst and she is a cosponsor but I called and email a message of support regardless.Flightmare wrote: ↑Thu Apr 22, 2021 3:17 pm My Senator, Paxton just announced her support for HB 1927. More are adding themselves to the list. I suspect that pressure will start to mount on the fence sitters.
We need to get this to a vote. Let the chips fall, but we need to know where our reps are on these issues.

Same here. I have made 4 phone calls.chasfm11 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 12:21 pmSo....it is my opinion that a couple of thousand people could break the switchboard at the Capitol, talking to or leaving messages for the Senators to "convince" them to pass Constitutional Carry. I remember a few years back when Charles had us call the officials in New Mexico who were threatening to withdraw reciprocity for then CHL. He said that he wanted them to hear ringing phones in their sleep. We did and the NM leadership capitulated. But it seems hard to get a few hundred calls made in support of the Texas bills that we all want. Perhaps we do need fighters but they seem in short supply.03Lightningrocks wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 8:15 pm For those that say they are ready to leave Texas, I say, what's stopping you? GET ALREADY! We don't need weak people here for the struggle. We need fighters.
Full disclosure. I belong to a group that has been sending out emails with the bill numbers and representatives' phone numbers. I've been making those calls. I'm not sure it isn't like dipping the Pacific Ocean with a teaspoon but I'm not giving up.
What’s so wrong if you don’t have enough support to pass it? Bring it up for a vote! Make people take a yes or no stand. Quit trying to avoid making a decision. Yea or Nay!

Best of luck to you!TheSoundGrip wrote: ↑Mon Apr 19, 2021 6:39 pm Getting closer and closer every day to leaving Texas. Hate to say it, but this really is the next California. It's now deeper than just Austin becoming California.
Florida, here I come!
I was born in Texas and I will die in Texas!
