Ahh-I would just take 3 steps toward the locker, take my wallet out, and poke it in my back pocket before any real controversy went down. Knowing my luck, some bonehead LEO would decide that any place administering a test is indeed a school.

That's NOT something I'm leaving in my truck.
They had lockers inside the office in plain sight of the front desk. I left my cell in my car, the wallet and keys in the locker, and the gun and extra magazine in my pockets.

Where was your CHL plastic at the time you were in the classroom? I hope you didn't leave it in your wallet. It is my understanding that to be covered by the CHL you actually have to have it on your person when you are carrying. Or am I mistaken?
Hmm. Good question. I'm guessing it is not the same as leaving it home; maybe more like your driver license being in the glove compartment. It was technically in the same room.

Small of back carry would have eliminated your concerns.

What would you have told them was in your pocket if they had called you out? I have been thinking about it, and I got nuthin.
Like I said, I was gonna' say it was pepper spray. I would have pulled it out just enough to reveal the plastic of the handle to show it wasn't a cell or wallet, or any electronic device. If there was any hassles beyond that, I would have walked out before the cops were called. I figured that it was small enough and plasticy enough to be one of those little pepper spray gun.

You're right. There are 30 words written on the frame, barrel, slide, and laser (I didn't bother to put the warning stickers on the laser). If questioned, I was gonna' call it pepper spray and pull it out enough to reveal the lil' plastic handle if forced to do so.

Afraid that my gun would be mistaken as a phone

Guys,

Today I visited an office suite that was hosting a standardized test that I need for career certification. It was neither posted, nor verboten in any way; but cell phones, and wallets were not allowed in the testing center. The entire time I was taking the test I was worried that the LCP bulge in my front pocket would be mistaken for a wallet or cell.
