Re: Can anybody school me on .38 SPL +P?

Thanks, I'll keep trying to hunt down some standard load ammo.

Can anybody school me on .38 SPL +P?

I inherited an original S&W model 60 (no dashes, in SS). It's early 1970's from the S/N.

It is in very good condition, no flame cutting, no cylinder shake, barrel gap is 1 sheet of printer paper and that measures 0.003 which I read is spot on.

I am reading varying opinions on whether +P is OK.

Some seem to say since +P didn't come out until after that revolver was made it's OK since original .38 had similar pressure to +P today.

Other articles I've found say the S&W says stick only to standard .38 SPL.

Does anybody have any recommendations on this?

I got this and a .357 Mag Highway Partrolman. These are my first revolvers, so I don't know that much about them. Trying to get a few boxes of ammo for them that isn't 30 years old.

Thanks!
