Re: Any Toyota Tundra Experts out there? I need help. Update
Took my Tundra in last week and gave the service writer an itemized list of events and issues which he ignored and tossed. The only thing he wrote on the service order was for a scan, which he said would cost $635.00 and that they would do an ECM recall. I looked up ECM when I got home: Engine Control Module. He didn't give me an optimistic time for completion. Low and behold I got a call the next day telling me a cracked tail light lens most likely caused a bulb to short out and that had caused all the problems. He said they could replace it for about $400.00. When I asked him if my turn signals and hazards were working - they were OK when I took it in- he said yes they were. He couldn't explain how the bulb had shorted. BTW I checked all the bulbs when the problem first started and all were OK. He also said they couldn't duplicate the slamming into reverse and slippage, even though it did it when I backed out of my drive way and when I backed up at the dealership. Also they said their were no codes on the Limited Slip Differential nor the transmission. He said the ECM was replaced, so I picked it up around 1PM and everything was working- back up lights and camera and no slipping and slamming in reverse. Paid them the $635 drove it into the parking lot; put it in reverse and backed up several times with no issues and then drove it home. They never even removed the broken tail light, but all is well, so I can only assume the ECM was the problem all the time. I replaced the tail light myself for 99 dollars from Certi-fit. Ebay had both R&L lights for around $105, but I didn't want to wait. All is well so far.

Any Toyota Tundra Experts out there? I need help.
I was leaving my deer lease yesterday in my 2012 Toyota Tundra to drive home and I noticed several simultaneous malfunctions. My back-up camera was dead, the back-up lights also not working along with no turn signals or hazard lights. Replaced the fuse on the turn indicators and though the turn indicators worked the 15A fuse blew again when I engaged the Hazard flasher. Checked bulbs and wiring for shorts, but found no issues. Put a 30 amp in the HAZ/Turn slot and the turn lights worked, but I didn't check the hazards. There were two "TRAC Off" lights lighted up and one would turn off when I hit the LSD button, but one stayed lit the whole way home. On the road I tried to use my cruise and though the green "cruise" lit up it wouldn't set the speed and the little green speedometer light didn't come on. When I got home I was backing up on some grass and the wheels spun and I had to go forward to get to a better spot. When I backed up again on some pavement my tranny would slip and then violently jerk. I am at a loss why all these things occurred simultaneously and if they are related. Anyone out there have any knowledge of issues such as I am having with my truck? ![headscratch :headscratch](./images/smilies/headscratch.gif)
