Definitely mechanical failure!! I've seen you shootAndyC wrote:If you shoot either zero or 1/25, then I'd have beaten you
Adapters work fine if they're long enough - but these were l'il short things which did nothing to hold any semblance of a shot-column together and I could see the resulting pellet-strikes clustered halfway down my bore. Absolutely horrific.

I know what you mean. If I ever thought about getting a visible tattoo it would warn others to avoid following my example! "Warning! On going test do not attempt to duplicate!"AndyC wrote:Sometimes my purpose in life is to serve as a horrible warning to others, yeppuma guy wrote:I heard about the resultThe Annoyed Man wrote:I think you got the better end of that deal. If I can make it to another Elm Fork shoot you can test your skill with a real .410
You probably shot better with the adapters than I do shoot with a 12ga.

Re: Federal #1 Buckshot - Flitecontrol test
Has any one done a comparison of LE132 vs other brands? I found one comparison of 2-3/4" LE132 00 VS 2-3/4" PD132 00 with a short barrel (probably 18") shotty on another forum. I didn't see a great deal of difference between that test and one I did with an 18" Win 1300 Defender and an old JC Higgins 21" Model 20 ( HS FliteKing) using 2-3/4" Spartan 00. Both the Federal and Spartan were 9 pellet loads. My Spartan test was at 50ft and the Federal test was done at 15yds. My patterns at 25ft were also comparable to the 10yds shots on the Federal review. I was very surprised to see that. I I would feel comfortable using the Spartan ammo for PD at distances I would expect to encounter. I'd like to find some of the Federal ammo in 1B to compare also but I can't find any in any brand. I was surprised at the performance of the old JC Higgins Mod 20 with the shortened 21" barrel. I keep it in my truck and have the Defender for home defense since it holds more rounds.
