Exactly who is on trial in that article, Mona Nelson, or David Davis? The accused in the courtroom appears to be Mona Nelson, but her attorneys appear to be trying David Davis.

They have been railroading Zimmerman since day one. Just a few days ago, a story was "leaked" about Zimmerman supposedly being a child-molester, a charge against which there is no defense because there are no other witnesses than the person making the accusation, who claims to be the victim. That is the ONLY reason—that and flat out racist race-baiting african-american attorneys who have no official capacity but who are "consulted" by the prosecutor's office—is why this case lingers on.

Maybe my remark wasn't clear. By "you're kidding" I meant: why would the prosecutor play fair; yes, it's a straight up railroad job; and no, they don't care about the truth at all, only the politics.

I was being somewhat sarcastic. (no smilie for that other than the wink one) But on the other hand, I believe a prosecutor should be after the truth not to find the arrested person guilty. Maybe I am naive, or maybe that's what a prosecutor is suppose to do, but instead they go after notches in their belt. I would have trouble sleeping if I was a prosecutor and I sent an innocent man to jail, especially if it was due to me hiding evidence that showed the innocence. America and society deserves the truth here, not a fabricated railroad job. Let the chips fall were they may.

NBC is criminally involved here. This isn't mere negligence. This is a deliberate attempt to drive the narrative in a certain direction by altering the facts of the story. People are calling for Zimmerman's arrest, DEAD or alive, as a racial profiling murderer based on this altered 911 recording. If a hair on Zimmerman's head is harmed, NBC is directly at fault, and somebody is going to have to fry for this.

This is intolerable!

This may seem like nitpicking, but every little deviation from the absolute truth gets magnified in a case like this so thought I'd point it out. And this is an important distinction, at least as far as the ignorant and quick-to-judge public is concerned, even though we all (should) know that 911 operators/dispatchers are NOT necessarily sworn law enforcement officers and have no authority to tell someone NOT to step outside.

That said, staying in his vehicle was GOOD ADVICE that Zimmerman should have heeded. But it had no force of law and is really irrelevant for the most part.

WB I believe you are correct. The phone conversation of Trayvon Martin to the girl is almost like a "dying confession" in my humble opinion. It seems to be an indictment of the shooter. The incompetence of Sandford PD in their investigation of this is a mystery to me. I am tempted to believe Mr. Zimmerman has a guardian angel on the force, especially with his assault of a police officer being dropped back in 2004. They didn't do a blood alcohol on him either, which was baffling to an investigator who thought he was impaired listening to the call to Sanford PD.

The conversation with his 16-yr old girlfriend was not recorded. How do we know that his girlfriend is not biased and was not lead to say what she is saying?

I read there were a lot of burglaries in the neighborhood recently. He called the PD when he saw someone suspicious who didn't live in the community. If he was already talking to someone at the PD when things went sideways, it wouldn't make sense to hang up on them to call 911.

There are so many things wrong with this story. If all the facts ever come out, I won't be surprised if neither of them ends up smelling like roses.

Umm, he did call 911. I think before you pass judgment on this, you need to read all of the posts, the news articles and listen to the tapes from his call to police and the other 911 call tapes. While I agree from the info that we have there probably could have been things that were done differently and it sounds like there were some mistakes made in approaching the guy and engaging him, we don't know enough to say that the man who shot him wasn't justified because he was attacked by the teen. All of the facts should come out of the investigation. And, since none of us are conducting that investigation, we have to wait an see what the findings are.
