Roy Harrell explained that this "Disaster Contingency Specialists" channel failed, but Paul learned a lot and discovered the firerarm related vids were popular. I have an Estwing Ax that I bought years ago when someone absconded with my double bit ax on a group camping trip to the beach. I had rounded up a trailer load of driftwood for the fire and left it on the trailer to use as we needed wood cut. There were "boyfriends" I'd never met of some of the girls and ladies and I assumed one decided he needed my ax more than I did. It boiled down to one of the two who left early. I have a cheap tomahawk in the gear box in the back of my vehicle, but I’ve never even used it on anything. I’m not even sure why I have it, except that maybe somewhere early on in my preparedness journey, I became convinced that I needed to have one. In reality, I’d have been far better served by buying a high quality camp axe, like the Hardcore Hammers Camp Companion Axe - Hardcore Edition. Expensive? Yes. But not really a lot more than other "premium" expensive hatchets/axes. Apparently they seriously chop wood, and the hammer head on the opposite side from the cutting edge is also a serious impact weapon if need be.
Would I like to have a really nice custom tomahawk? Sure, but primarily for its cool-factor.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
I like many others here and on other forums are saddened by the loss of Paul Harrell. I was reflecting on some of his videos, having watched and re-watched many of them. I have been a "gun guy" since I saved up my money and bought my first air rifle at about 10 years of age. A Sheridan Blue Streak. Back then there was no internet or videos only magazines and word of mouth. I perused catalogues, magazines and any other available source to make a decision on which air rifle to buy. I ended up selling guns for several years and was no stranger to new comers wanting to get started, but couldn't hold a candle to Paul's knowledge and style. The word of mouth part resounded in my head as i was thinking about Paul. I'm know he helped untold numbers of gun guys with his videos, but then I came to the realization that he surely helped thousands, upon thousands of individuals who didn't grow up with guns learn and make decisions with the information he provided in his unique style. I can see him in a one on one situation carrying on just as he did in his video. I will proudly wear my Paul Harrell Legends Live Forever T shirt and hope his legacy continues as his brother and crew carry on.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
I've been watching all the videos that have come along : some with Paul and looked at the channel this weekend. but only saw the part 2 bowling pin shoot out. Thanks for posting. Roy's comments are ominous regarding Paul's health sadly, but he is quite a trooper! I pray for some miracle for him.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
I continue to follow Paul Harrell and he's posted some new videos that I will leave to the reader to find, but I wanted to share this one. His stamina seems to have improved from an interview he did for another YouTuber a while back. My prayers continue for him to beat the odds.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
Paul Harrell with his brother apparently post this video on "3 day Survival Packs" today. Looks better and stronger and his voice is definitely stronger than his last post. This is the short version video. I haven't viewed the longer one. Stay strong Paul and prayers for healing.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
I saw there's a newly FDA approved treatment medication for pancreatic cancer, but it's for those who haven't received previous treatment. I hope he qualifies. Also - My Paul Harrell T-shirt arrived. Having seen him talk about himself I'd say the it's somewhat tongue in cheek.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
Definitely seeing the effects of his condition, though he carried through like the true trooper he is. His humility screamed out when asked the question about a legacy. I liked his answer about where he carried - I do too. He has my continued prayers for a miracle. I saw a previous video about Harrell from that YouTuber, but hadn;t seen this one. Thanks for sharing it.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
It's pretty clear to me from Paul Harrell's introduction of his brother Roy, not Ray, that his time is short for making content on his channel if at all since he also stated in a subsequent video it could be his last appearance. I hope that he has more time than he thinks, but I wasn't expecting to see Paul in the latest video nor any near term postings. Still wishing him the very best outcome for treatment and praying for him and his family and friends. I, too, appreciated the homage to Paul with the turn of the head.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
Got a notice that Paul Harrell's channel had a new video. There is a a fundraiser T shirt sale link when you look up Paul's Youtubevideo by Roy (I think it's his brother) about interchangeability of 40 S&W in a 10mm firearm. I ordered a T-shirt for myself, but I am not soliciting anyone to do the same, just noting that it's there. I actually wish he had a direct money fundraiser, but I liked the shirt's design. Wishing him well and prayers for survival.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
I was looking up how to send Paul a message and notice he has hit one million subscribers. No reason to stop, though. I never looked at his stats and was amazed to see he has produced 407 videos. He has my prayers for the very best outcome.

Sounds like your dad was truly one of the best of The Greatest Generation. The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 11:31 pmIt’s what took my dad's life. He lasted for 4-1/2 months after it was discovered. It was too late, and had already metastasized to his liver and his spine. It was a hard dying, but he took it in stride because he sincerely believed that he was supposed to have died with his men in Cushman’s Pocket in Iwo Jima, and he didn’t. So he had vowed to live every day after he came off the battlefield as if it was a gift, and he did. He told us, when he found out that he was terminally ill, that he had no regrets and was grateful for the 45 years he’d had after the war, and he accepted his fate with as much grace and stoicism as he could summon.
It looks to me like Paul Harrell is taking a page from the same book.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
I noticed that as well. If his pancreatic cancer is localized, which I pray it is, his chances for survival is 27% about 10% if it has spread. His comment about the last time we may see him on camera does not bode well. I agree with you, it is really sad.

Re: Paul Harrell announces cancer diagnosis
Typical Harrell- to the point no frills announcement with little explanation that would divulge personal detail. . I viewed your post about the shooting he was involved in.. I recall he did a video with details and remarks on the shooting he was involved in. It was prior to his no bill from the grand jury as I recall. I'm going to try to find it.The Annoyed Man wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 2:07 pm It’s not sounding good for Paul now. He just posted this 3 hours ago:
Well crap.Hey everyone, we’re out on our range today, and what we’re talking about today is that the time I have left to continue making content in this format is becoming very short.
