Yep! Sorry. It seems I was, too. Long story, but short version here: The chart prompted me to look at several firearms death charts and after looking at many websites and charts I ended on one that was almost identical to yours in appearance that addressed non-homicidal firearms deaths. Japan was listed with the lowest almost zilch stats. In my haste to respond I crossed up yours with that one. I did a paper in college back in the '60s on weapons of choice for homicides and learned that it's the predominant weapons of any area that are primarily used. The only relevance to your post is that listing Japan's stats on firearms homicides as useless since you can't own a gun in Japan. I don't know if Japanese murderers push their victims off Mt Fuji, but for self elimination jumping off a height is second only to hanging.Chemist45 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 29, 2021 9:14 pm puma guy wroteI'm confused, puma guy - what does suicide have to do with it?This chart is about as useless as teats on a boar hog! This chart doesn't deal with suicide - just homicide.
The suicide rate in Japan (with firearms or anything else) is not included in this data.
It is simply a comparison of firearms ownership and homicide.
