ummm Der, isn't your ssan required on the application for the CHL anyway? umm and I know for a fact its tied to your DL, so what purpose does redacting your ssan serve?

You're probably right.
I just make it a habit to delete the SSAN from my DD-214 whenever I have to submit it anywhere. Can't remember if the VA cared, but I got a discount on my Sprint phone bill for being a veteran. I just avoid giving out pieces of paper with my SSAN whenever I can.

Habit.
