Neal, You said exactly what I was thinking. It's not just 2%.

But for the sake of argument, lets say it is just 2% of there business that they lose. At the level of business the do, 2% is significant. Now consider, most people don't eat alone, make that 4%. Now writing them a letter letting them know that they won't be getting your business gives them an easy explanation as to where that 4% drop in there profits came from.

So, you don't care that Taco Cabanas profits went down 4% (I don't either) and you don't like there food any way (I could take it or leave it). We'll just protest among ourselves and not eat there. Their are plenty of other places to eat.

Do you like Burger King? Well the majority of 'em are franchise, and Carrols, who owns Taco Cabana, also owns more Burger King franchises the any other company. Lets say they decide that there no weapons policy has worked pretty good for Taco Cabana (only a couple letters and they have a form letter ready to respond) Why not do it in there Burger Kings?

Lucky for us they don't own any Burger Kings in Texas. But what if it was to not have any ill effect on the Burger Kings and the policy went company wide. So there goes concealed carry at Burger King. Two places down plenty more where you can still carry.

Now if you want to take this logic (or illogic) to the extreme Texas Pacific Group owns Burger King, and they own or control all kinds of things like Petco, J. Crew, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Continental and America West Airlines. Lucky for us, it looks like they've given up on trying to acquire Home Depot for now since they sank so much in to the TXU buyout.

Do I really think this will happen? No, but it could. There's also the chance that some What-a-Burger Exec. could see the sign and say "Well it hasn't driven Taco Cabana out of business, why don't we try it."

I once saw a signature in a forum that said "If you don't stand for something, then you will fall for anything.".....

I'm not sure which Bana thread it came up in, but, 10 of the 116 Banas are franchises, the rest are corporate (Carrols).

......It was a slow night at work.
