I think the first problem is finding someone that actually has the authority to give this permission. If the school board has not created a policy delegating this to certain individuals then it could be a problem. Let’s say a principal gives you this permission and then later you are involved in a situation that requires you to display or use your handgun. A higher level of management could state that the principal does not have this authority and therefore you are now in violation of the law.

My other thoughts are this is a mute point. I believe pigs will fly over East Texas dropping 100 dollar bills before any large school district gives permission for an individual to carry a handgun on a school campus.
