do you live in Austin ?.... since you dropped off your paperwork there.
if so , that would be better than living in Harris County.
some folks here have been waiting 130+ days so far.

Took the CHL class on Tuesday.
Dropped of the Packet at the DPS Office today. Spent some time talking with the nice lady that checked my Application out and took my Payment . She said the biggest surge on apps was from Nov Election to Dec last Year.
She said so many people are misinformed on the Length of time it takes to get the app done and License issued. DPS is doing their part in a timely matter and that it was the counties (ESP Harris) that were holding things up on the Background checks.
She told me it could take up to 120 days from Today to get my CHL
