They got my app three days before yours (we took our class the same day), so I ought not be far behind you.
Hoping!
was yours for a new chl or a renewal?bhv wrote:Their processes really do make me wonder.......

Work in Travis County, Live in Williamson.

Dangit! You talked me into it. I called........![]()
Spoke with a very nice lady who told me my application was just completed and being sent out to be printed. She said I should have it in a couple of weeks.
levidale wrote:Called dps today too, the lady told me my went to print 2 days ago. Said I should be getting it next week. My also said still processing. We will see I guess.

Mazzy wrote: Get this... Instead of inking up my stubby digits, they gave them a little squirt of water and pressed the pads of my fingers onto a glass scanner surface. In realtime, my fingerprint shows up HUGE on a computer monitor at the print station. One finger at a time, flat-down and rolled, it scanned my fingerprints, does some CSI looking red-pattern-y stuff, and determines whether it's a good print or not. Anyway, when all is said and done, the very very helpful CSPD clerk inserts my two new print cards into a printer and prints out SHAAAAARP perfect fingerprints onto the cards.
5/31 = CHL Class
6/01 = Packet Mailed
...I believe I already had my pin, because I paid DPS online...
crickets chirping...earth in orbit around sun...time passes...
7/16 = "Processing Application"
8/04 = Receive the feared "big brown envelope." New prints requested, new prints made, new prints sent back to CHL office.
8/06 = "Processing Application"

In my class we were told you did not need to go back further than 10 tears, well apparently that has changed.![]()

I always thought my fingerprints would be kicked back
They (the DPS) only need your addresses and employers covering the last 5 years. Call them up and ask why they think they need 10 years...which sounds suspiciously like the 'no convictions' time period. It could be that a new 'temp' has goofed.

Keith B wrote:This doesn't make sense. GC §411.174 (9) (b) states you are only required to list your address for residence and business for the preceding 5 years. I moved here in 1998 and only listed one address (same since moving here) and my current work address (same company) I had for the preceding 5 years. No problem with mine.maxpower wrote:talked to DPS today to find out what information was missing since the detailed letter has not yet arrived - the info that is missing is that I did not list a second home address in my history, just the address where I have been living in Texas since I moved here in 1997....the same with my employer - same for the past 35 years, but that needs to be stated on the back.....what a crock! I always thought my fingerprints would be kicked back
I would contact them back and ask why they are requiring more than what the statute requires since they meet the requirements per your post.
