Re: May 2009 Applications
So how are most people counting? I see some counting from the time they took their class, some counting from when their checks were endorsed, and some of us counting from the time DPS actually received our apps. From what date are we supposed to count? (personally, I always thought it was the day they got your app, but what do I know.
)

Re: May 2009 Applications
I think I must be at just about the danger point (e.g. 60 days - the ominous letter phase). So far so good. I sho' do hope saying that is not tempting fate! I've only been tempted once or twice to write/call and tell DPS, "You realize I'm OOOOOOOOLD? Promise me you'll send me the plastic thing before I die."
Mostly I'm posting because the May app thread was so far down the list I had to hunt for it.
Consider it temporarily bumped.

Re: May 2009 Applications
No joy yet, huh, USA1? I've just discovered it's easier to wonder about whether your plastic has shown up or your status has changed than to wonder about my own.
(My own being so far in the future as to make wondering about approval a moot point.
)

I think I will set myself some obtainable limits for my definition of "not dwelling too much" ... like don't check on the status more than 3X daily.

Somebody pass me some Benadryl cream.

Re: May 2009 Applications
Well, here I am, lurking and reading and figured it was time to post. Who knows maybe I'll even get my PIN within the next week or two.
Another woman in our office who took the course from the same instructor I did (about two weeks before me), just got the letter about needing to re-do her fingerprints. Bummer! I can only hope and pray that doesn't mean it's likely mine were unsatisfactory as well. She plans on getting hers re-done at a FAST office in hopes of not having them rejected a second time.
It's going to be a long wait and, meanwhile, I keep thinking about the CHL holders who are having to renew and facing this same bureaucratic-delay nightmare. I wish there were an activist organization working to push the PTB to fix this problem for Texas CHL holders and the rest of us wannebes. Is there one? How about TSRA or .....? I pay dues to these folks and a couple of others. Are any of them on this?
I've heard of "slow as Christmas" and now I'm thinking Christmas 2009 and my plastic are running neck and neck.
