I dunno about that...

I've had the opportunity to shoot a Ruger 10-22 equipped with the Magnum Research graphite carbon fiber barrel (don't know what they call it). It was considerably lighter that mine and dead on accurate... I know that a .22 rimfire is hardly a sniper ifle, but the principle is there.
