Based on my experience, I find the Defender more comfortable over a couple of Galco IWB holsters that I have. This method as shown (if you're right handed) also keeps the muzzle from crossing your body when you draw. That's something that I realized $120 and 2 holsters later and really is something to keep in mind when considering IWB holsters. If you're forced to use your weapon you don't want the muzzle crossing your body when you draw and inadvertently shooting yourself in the heat of the moment.
Couple of things about concealed carry if it's in your waistband:
1. Buy your pants 2 sizes larger than you normally wear which helps make it a bit more comfortable
2. Wear an undershirt to keep the leather/plastic/gun from digging into your skin as bad. Either way it's going to rub and gouge you, especially at the end of a long day.
Keep in mind that it's really not comfortable to carry concealed and that with any method there is a trade off in speed, comfort and concealability. You have to decide for yourself which is most important and dress around that method. I can tuck a shirt in fine with the Defender but find that it can print when I stand after sitting so I make sure to slightly blouse my shirt to help hide this.
As my CHL instructor said, "Be prepared to look like a slob". It does make it easier to conceal if you leave your shirt untucked and I have no problems concealing with a pair of shorts and a T-shirt with this method. None of my co-workers realize when I'm carrying (shirt tucked in with polo's) nor my neighbors when I'm more casual at home. Hell, my mother and mother-in-law have no clue that I carry around them and as I stated earlier this is the most comfortable method I've found (which means that it's slightly to moderately uncomfortable but you get used to it).
