162 days. IFit shows up in the mail this morning!! I can drive to Austin in two hours, hopefully the plastic can make it here in 4 days thru the USPS system. HECK, i bet it takes less than 4 days to WALK to Austin. Then again, who knows when DPS mailed it...

Checking in..
Day 156 today. No issues with paperwork. I called DPS and was told BG checks come back in the order that they were received. This is simply not true.
In any case I’m happy for all the folks finally getting the phantom plastic. I have not written my congressman or senator or anything like that, maybe I should have.
I think if i was told “Harris county BG's are a cluster f..k and that they come back when they do, there is no orderly system" then I would feel better. At least I know it’s the truth.
I'm not really mad at DPS because I know they really are swamped, although I believe the Harris County BG check system could be more efficient.
Let’s hope the next Texas Legislator session fixes some of the inefficiencies for all the Texas citizens who submit apps in the future.
Until then, patiently waiting.....
