Re: Cleared the house this morning

I think it all depends on the layout of the house, the couple and their particular living situation. I'm less likely to shoot my husband if I'm with him. But then, we don't have any young 'uns to worry about, either.

And there's something about sitting in a room after hearing a noise and waiting who knows how long for police to show up that I just can't do.

Take a look at X10 or some other remote light switch. You can replace two of your wall switches to control lights over the doors remotely, with a little remote on your nightstand. Bump in the night? Hit the remote and turn on those lights in the other end of the house before you head that way.
Ooooooo...great thinking!!! <putting that on the "To Buy" list>

Re: Cleared the house this morning

Outstanding post, Random!

A plan is just words on paper unless you exercise it. williamkevin and I have been talking about this very thing, but have been somewhat unmotivated to actually DO something. You have motivated me. ;-)

One of the things we have been talking about is taking a couples tactical firearms course of some kind.

I'm glad that everything turned out ok, but it sure seems suspicious and worrisome that you think someone might have been in your house. Please keep us posted on how the plan and lessons learned progresses!
