Re: owb harder to conceal than iwb?
I carry an XDsc9 daily owb. I started out iwb but found it was uncomfortable as well. First step - get a quality gun belt, makes all the difference. Then look for a high ride belt holster that is drawn close to the body by design. My holster fits as close to my body as did the iwb...and is tons more...

Re: Stupid thieves.....
If they got in as austinrealtor suggested, here's a simple fix:
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Worth doing even if they didn't get in that way.

Re: Need a gun belt
I bought two, one black and one brown, from Gunner's Alley made of two layers of bull hide. There's a wait period of about 40 days but you can choose width (1 1/4 up to 1 3/4, color of leather, color and shape of hardware, and number and spacing of holes. They do look more like dress belts than gun ...

Re: New EDC - Wife's Suggestion
Actually, my wife does have her own gun but not a CHL (working on convincing her of that, tough sell). Regarding recoil, it's true that with the adrenaline flowing one doesn't notice recoil. But, we all practice in non-confrontational settings without the adrenaline. And, I'm a firm believer in prac...

Re: New EDC - Wife's Suggestion
Not yet, she's been out of town celebrating her father's birthday. But, it fits her hand well and she says it feels good to her. Probably out to the range this weekend. I expect she'll shoot it as well as my full size...which she shoots really well. Will report back.

Re: Nice OWB that will not take 12 months to get?
Ordered a 1-SL pancake style holster with snap loops from Lobo Gun Leather on April 29, actually one for each of my carry guns. Got the notice on Monday (May 31) that both holsters and the mag pouches were in the mail. So, just about 1 month turn around.

New EDC - Wife's Suggestion
I've largely carried a S&W 638 snub but my wife can't shoot it because of the recoil. Recently she asked, "What if we're in a situation where you need to pass me the gun?" and said she thought I should trade it for something she could shoot as well. Needless to say, I was at the local ...

Re: IWB vs. OWB
I've been using IWB exclusively but haven't found the right one yet. So, I began asking myself the same question. Recently I ordered a 1-SL Pancake style holster with snap loops from Lobo Gun Leather. It's a high ride style designed to bring the weapon close to the body according to the craftsman. I...

Re: High Noon
To close the loop on this discussion, I've been using my custom made waistband holsters (IWB) from Mika's Pocket Holsters for about 3 months now (one each for S&W 638 and Sigma 9VE. The quality of the holsters is excellent, the leather is high quality, and retention is excellent without a thumbs...

Re: Sig Mosquito -- Guilty or Innocent?
Bought a Mosquito about a month ago for fun and cheap practice. Standard model, very accurate. I had some initial trouble with FTEs and FTFs. Then, I found this on the Sig Sauer site. I don't think this information is in the manual and it makes all the difference in the world. I had thought the high...

Re: Carrying Extra Ammo For The Snubby ?
I also carry two 6 round Bianchi speed strips in a TuffProducts pouch. As everyone has noted, with practice reloading is a fast process. I actually load my speedstrips at the range as I practice as an intermediate step for reloading the snubbie. This gives me a lot of practice with the reloading. Th...

Re: Online pharmacy?
I think it's illegal to order drugs and import them into the US. But, I think one can bring a 90 day supply into the country in person. At any rate, Canada does license its pharmacies and dealing with a licensed pharmacy should offer the best protection. See: http://www.ciparx.ca/" onclick=&quo...

Re: Trading in the full size for pocket or another sub
I carry a S&W 638 every day in my pocket along with two speedstrips on my belt (130 gr Winchester PDX1 +P). The only time I don't carry the snubbie is when I'm going to a mall or a bad area of town, then I go with a S&W Sigma 9 plus two extra magazines. It's comfortable, reliable, and easily...

Re: First aid ,CPR after shooting?
I agree with TAM. If you've called an ambulance, you've met your obligations. When performing CPR, you would be in a most vulnerable position for any "friends" of the BG that might be lurking. Also, LEOs carry and use handcuffs; CHLs don't and you couldn't be sure what actions the BG might...

Re: Laser Eye Surgery
My wife had laser surgery in one eye, no problems and she shoots well. She has long distance vision in one eye, close vision in the other eye and switches back and forth easily. Dry eyes is a common side effect and she does experience that from time to time. My optometrist offered me another option:...
