Re: "The Gun" AK 47 Book Review
I have not read the book either but I did hear the author being interviewed on the radio and he was actually quite reasonable and stuck to the facts. The reason that there are so many AK 47s he said is because rather than factories waiting for orders before producing guns, which is usually the case,...

Re: WTB a FN Five-seveN let me know... DFW
Bachmann does indeed have them, plus I traded one with night sights to them not long ago that they may still have. Unfortunately that was before your post appeared! I do still have a tactical light made to fit the 5-7 if you do acquire one and are interested in a tactical light. I also still have a ...

Re: HK P30 and Auto Slide Release
My P30 does this if I slam the mag hard enough. Obviously, as pointed out above, some muzzle discipline is in order!

Re: Are all indoor gun ranges hot?
DFW Gun Range has AC. That is true and they do a reasonable job of cooling the range but has already been said they need to bring plenty of fresh air to exhaust the smoke and lead. In hot weather the cooling just can't keep up with the intake of warm fresh air. Actually, on a hot dry day the coolin...

Re: Federal Gov sues AZ
I think that gun owners in particular should think very carefully before condemning this suit out of hand. The Federal Government, as I understand it, in this suit is just reserving for itself certain authority (while it is certainly true that the Feds. have done a lousy job of exercising that autho...

Re: Time for a Little Perspective on Oil Spills...
I think that the author makes a bit too much out of the left-wing liberal angle relative to the spill. I didn't know that a person had to be a liberal to be concerned about the impact of this on the Gulf! I do hope that he got the science right and that the impact of this lasts only a couple of year...

Future of the FN Five-Seven and the 5.7x28 cartridge?
In weak moments I sometimes find myself wanting an FN Five-Seven which shoots the proprietary FN 5.7x28 cartridge. I'm looking for opinions regarding whether this proprietary cartridge size (and this gun) will stand the test of time and still be around several years from now? I am well aware of some...

Very nice! I am sure that you will enjoy it. I couldn't help noticing in your disassembly picture that you used the wire like takedown tool provided with the gun for disassembly. In case you weren't aware I thought that I would mention this guy's Ultra tool - http://www.1911ultratool.com/" oncl...

Re: No more Texas Stadium
At least three of the big buttresses remained standing but most of it came down in a nice neat big pile. I guess that they knew in advance that the buttresses might withstand the explosion.

Great video, but how is that any different from what is done by every other administration - republican or democrat?

Re: Shoot alone
I typically go to the range alone. I usually keep my shooting to about an hour or less - don't think that I would much enjoy shooting by myself for as many as 4 hours.

It wouldn't deter the BGs; it might even attract them unless the person carrying the bag actually kept one hand inside the bag at all times.

Re: Why does it seem like 1 in 4 gun ranges are full of jerks?
I guess my trips there have been more pleasant than you described. I wasn't trying to be a wise guy, by the way. (Ok, maybe just a little ) Seriously, be careful. They let folks get away with some really unsafe stuff. I am lucky enough to be able to use DFW range at times they are generally l...
