It may also be worth noting that you can have your CHL - and your driver's license, for that matter - mailed to a different address than what's on the CHL/DL.

That's the case with me, because I live in one (very small) town, but the mail is delivered by a post office in another. The mailing address is therefore in a town where I don't live.

Your DL/CHL are required to reflect the physical address where you are located (with the aforementioned exception for college students), which may be different from where you receive mail.
