Re: General 2015 Legislative Session Discussion
Good articles. He has aligned himself(publicly) with OCT & OCTC. With the media attention those 2 groups have had in the last 8 months, he may have well announced he will not be running for public office come election time, next go around, IMO.

Re: General 2015 Legislative Session Discussion
It appears that there are 2 Bills that will come before the Committee on State Affairs on Thursday, 2/12/2015:
SB17 - Licensed Open Carry
SB11 - Campus Carry
Those are the only 2 Bills up for discussion before the Committee on Thursday from what I can tell.
It should be a VERY interesting meeting, and I urge all of you who can, watch the goings on in the Committee:

The below is a schedule of Senate Committee Meetings for the remainder of the month:

More great info is posted about watching committee meetings on the TFC homepage.

Re: General 2015 Legislative Session Discussion
Because SB17 is fast tracked to wind its way through the legislative process. And because of that there has been a 'call to arms' by the militant OC groups to attend and testify against that bill.locke_n_load wrote:Why is there a consensus that this hearing will be infuriating to watch? Seems that 346/17 removes concealed from the CHL law and creates a 30.07 specifically for OC, which seems like a reasonable bill for licensed OC.Charles L. Chas.
Here's the related topic and the 'call to arms' of CATI.

It's a good bill and IIRC endorsed by both NRA & TSRA.

Indeed. If I took blood pressure medicine, I would definitely take a dose before watching.Charles L. Cotton wrote:Unless there is a system failure, it will be broadcast. Re: General 2015 Legislative Session Discussion
Watkins with his absurd antics, to me, comes off as a separatist(secessionist, if you will), who's out of touch with reality.(is that an oxymoron or what. )mojo84 wrote:Watkins does not come across as being sane. He seems to lack touch with reality and appears unstable.
Grisham comes across as being overzealous, lacking in discernment and unwise.
Grisham seems to me a megalomaniac, does not have the ability to compromise, or admit his antics are totally counterproductive to his stated 'goals'.
Other than that, I totally agree with you.
