Re: Whats the name of your Lawyer?

Please forgive my ignorance of lawyers, but is a lawyer who handles "weapons charges" likely to also be the lawyer you would call after a self-defense shooting?
IMO, yes. Most, if not all, are criminal defense attorneys.
We have lists for holsters and safes, I think it would be great resource to have a list of "forum member recommended" CHL/RKBA knowledgeable/savvy lawyers.
I think that's an excellent idea. Maybe start a separate thread dedicated to only listing attorney's that handle such issues. :thumbs2:

Re: Whats the name of your Lawyer?

There have been over a dozen posts in this thread, some good jokes (I like Car Talk too), but not a single lawyer's name mentioned.
Indeed. markswivel asks the question, and then mentions he does have one but he doesn't even answer his own question. :headscratch

My attorney is Tom Cox in Dallas:

if you clicked on the link I posted of texas weapons violation attorney's a few posts above, you get tons of hits from all over the state. As many people don't list where they are from in their profile next to the avatar, it becomes increasingly difficult to recommend an attorney, since we don't know what area of the State the person is in. Wouldn't do much good to recommend my lawyer for someone who lives in Lubbock, El Paso, or Houston.

Advise on lawyers...Do a little research if you are so commited...Ask them flat out how they view the Second Amendment, and how they view CHL'ers and defensive shooting incidents...

I know of only three lawyers (in Texas) that are absolutely understanding (and knowledgable) about the issue, and they are on speed-dial... :coolgleamA:
That's good advice on vetting them, but how do you even begin the search? There are a lot of lawyers in the yellow pages.
Take your pick. There's tons of them in Texas. :txflag:

I know I do
I do. One of his areas of practice is weapons violations. He's in Dallas but covers Tarrant county.
