Super congrats lancermit! It won't be long now! I'd say you'll get it about 3 or 4 days AFTER you get the message online "application complete". Let's hope it's next week!lancermit wrote: Okay, so I got the necessary paperwork from Taylor county (they couldn't find anything from 32 years ago, duh!) and sent it back to the DPS. It didn't take as long as I expected for them to review the paperwork and get everything approved.
I FINALLY got the "Application Completed" message on the website, yesterday! (3 months and 13 days) Just a few more days for the plastic, heh?

Re: December 2009 Applications
Springfield has come out with their 3" barrel, 9mm EMP:USA1 wrote:One thing..to the best of my knowledge , Springfield doesn't have a .45 in "subcompact" .angretired wrote:Thanks for the suggestions USA1 & Joe817, I like all 3 (Springfield, Taurus & Beretta) in a .45. I haven't shot a Taurus but my CHL instructor had one and he also made the recommendation. Off to the other boards for more CHL ideas and discussions. I'm no longer waiting. YAY.
But they do offer a "compact" .45 which is slightly larger.
"To put the EMP in proper perspective, you need to realize that a Walther PPK/S in .380 ACP weighs a tad over 22 ounces and is only slightly shorter and thinner than this new pistol. The new EMP measures 6.6 inches long. In effect, Springfield Armory has designed a 9mm 1911 pistol that is only slightly larger than a .380 pocket pistol."

I'd love to have one of those things.

Wow! I've fallen behind(turns around and looks)!
Super congrats to mmaness, Wino & gir for getting the plastic!!!
Texas became a little safer!
Welcome to the forum Douge & John112709! Glad to have you with us!
Grumble, the range at Bass Pro is in the basement below the gun section. It's really nice, but it costs $10.00/hour...to rich for my blood.

12/16/09: DPS Received Packet
12/30/09: Application Complete
14 DAYS?????????? You gotta be kidding me! *faint*
Gadzooks G26TR that's unbelievable! Super congrats!
DPS MUST be trying to push through as many apps as they can before 12/31 to get the numbers up.....that's all I can figure out.
14 days is about the length of time DPS took to show "processing application" AFTER they received my packet.

I checked my status at DPS yesterday before I left work for the day (5:30pm) and my status was Processing Application. I checked this morning and the status is now Application Completed - license issued or certificate active. I would never have thought it would have been this quickly. Guess I get to join the 30 day club after all! Yippee!
Super congrats!!!
