Trigger guard: I'm now curious now about the potential to grab the trigger while removing the gun from the magnet, but I'm very conscious of where my fingers are when handling. I'll have to test it out in a couple of positions. I'd be most concerned using with my XD, we'll see.
Scratches: It is supposed to be covered by plastic, so I don't expect any scratches from the thing. I don't care about scratches anyway. I wouldn't own a gun that I am afraid to use because I may scratch it. I also don't buy anything that I don't plan on keeping forever. I do my best to keep them clean and scratch free, but I guess I view them more as tools then as pieces of art to admire.
I'll stick them on my tool box, work bench, or 4wheeler if they don't work out as I want or expect. There's a ton of uses for something like this.
