It's here
Day 108 and I have plastic in hand. Doing the Wally Walk tomorrow as I'm busy setting up my new gun safe tonight!
What a Day: I bought a new safe today, got my CHL, and the new Galco holster I ordered also arrived, and I'm off work tomorrow!
I'm like a kid at Christmas
Best wishes to all, I'm out of this waiting room.

Re: February Applications
I know it's frustrating, but....Kevinf2349 wrote:I hear what you are saying and I certainly understand the standpoint. I know it shouldn't cause any problems but you never can tell. Personally I am going to sit tight and wait at least 100 days before I even consider starting to contact them. As I am only on day 30 something so I have a way to go yet.
I was just updated to "application complete, license issued" on day 104. I had asked my instructor about calling them, but he said it wouldn't do any good, and I should wait until day 120 to call. That conversation was two days before I was updated. Hang tough, you'll get it.

Re: February Applications
I did read the the full statute, and you're probably correct. But my point was that they could exercise that "snippet", which is also a part of the law, snippet or not. They may not be justified in doing so, but do you really care to get in a pissing contest with DPS? It's just not worth it, IMHO.Kevinf2349 wrote:
I don't believe you can just quote that little snippet without having read the full statute which reads
So if they don't issue because of someone 'pestering' I would imagine that was considered "capricious or
arbitrary decision by the department." wouldn't it?
As a side question....when does the clock start? When the certified mail is delivered? When the DPS cash the check/money order? When you get the pin? Some other time? Thoughts?

Re: February Applications
I don't think I'd push the issue, given the highlighted part.rs3texas wrote:According to DPS statutes, don't they have 60 days to approve, deny, or at least give notice as to why licenses haven't been issued? Wouldn't those still waiting after 90 days be automatically denied if the DPS fails to notify them?
Those still waiting deserve answers, and if I were still waiting, I'd darn sure be calling someone requesting status in writing.
(c) Failure of the department to issue or deny a license for a period
of more than 30 days after the department is required to act under
Subsection (b) constitutes denial.[/b][/i]

Re: February Applications
I gotta stop coming here! Although I'm happy for those of you who have recently received your plastic, I'm getting more ticked off every time I see that your package was received by DPS AFTER mine, and I'm still "processing". I'm at 103 days today, got my PIN at the 30 day mark, and have not heard anything from DPS in regards to bad prints, photos, etc.
So what's the problem?

98 days total Way too long, but at least I finally have it. Now to start checking the mail fanatically.
Apparently going to the range worked. It had been since January when I took the class (lack of ammo/time) since I'd been shooting. Go put 50 rounds down range like this:
Go home, clean your gun, check your status. It worked for me!
You should have fixed that flyer at 6:00 before posting the pic!
Congrats...I'm at 97 days.

Re: February Applications
With all this talk of how bad Harris County is, does anyone know how Bexar County is doing? I'm at 96 days now since they received it.
