I don't know enough to believe or not believe him on the laser issue of what is being used by the protesters with regards to the power. However, he says they are using 5W lasers and then says a dog laser is 5 thousand milliwatts.

Do I still have that defense if I'm wearing protective glasses knowing that their attempt to harm me is unlikely to be successful or does their intent provide me with enough justification?

I also looked up some protective glasses and there is a pair that I like than will protect from the green laser de jour (532nm) and near IR at about 808nm that are not much more than what I paid for my Oakley's many years ago.

This bring up a couple of questions.

1. Why were they going after this woman? Was she targeted at random? If not, why her?

2. She was surrounded by a mob of several. They were attempting to blind her. Then one even grabbed her. I think lethal force would have been justified by a neighbor under the defense of a third party part, right?

This is mess, already out of control, is going to reach its boil-over point before too long if this keep up and a lot of people will die before it stops.
