IIRC, just being a VESP isn't enough. Doesn't one have to be actively participating in that capacity to get that exclusion at that time?Soccerdad1995 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 22, 2019 6:37 pmPriestTheRunner wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 2:48 pm Legal TABC blue sign, legal 30.06 sign, and illegal 30.07 notice.
Also when the doors are open and it is concealed through 'double' tinted glass I doubt it would be noticeable. Considering its only a class C misdemeanor and disputing the charge in court would entail taking a picture of the doors (when open) and showing the judge that it isn't readily visible would get the ticket dismissed, I wouldn't worry about it. (Keep in mind Class C = judge not jury trial).
However, any business that takes that position is not going to get any future business of mine. Ultimately, If they don't want me to carry then they can correct the sign to be big and ugly on the outside of the building. I wouldn't go there unless they were the only option.
"Disappearing" signs that may or may not be visible depending on whether the doors are open do not meet the definition of ""Conspicuously posted", IMHO.
Fortunately, that sign wouldn't apply to me anyways though, as a VESP.

Re: What Is Your Opinion
I totally missed it the first couple times I looked at it and only realized it appears correct after the 3rd or 4th time looking it over carefully word for word.PriestTheRunner wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 3:12 pmWow, even after looking at it twice, and trying to find the 30.07, I was still missing it.C-dub wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 1:23 pm30.06 & 30.07 are there squished together into one big one. Re: What Is Your Opinion
Are you sure about that? Each of them say "a sign", but I'm not aware of and don't remember anything that says they have to be separate.
The text all seems correct and if the size is correct then I think challenging it in court would be an uphill battle. Sure, it appears a little squished together, but it seems all the elements are there.

Re: What Is Your Opinion
Wait! That's one of those combo signs. Let me read it again. It might be totally insufficient even for 30.07.
EDIT:
Woops!
It looks like the English is correct for both and mostly correct in Spanish.

Re: What Is Your Opinion
My opinion is that was sufficient notice before open carry passed. Now, the wording has changed even for 30.06 and this sign is no longer valid notification.
If and when an officer arrives, if it is somehow determined that you are carrying a concealed handgun, the manager or whoever will give oral notification.
