It sounds good on paper, but we gotta be careful with those automatic things. Something always comes up and everyone says, there should be an exception.LDB415 wrote:What was meant was, you use a firearm in the commission of a crime it's automatic capital punishment. Period. Doesn't matter what type ammo. No argument by defense that it was or wasn't a certain type. Now, it does require irrefutable DNA confirmation along with the conviction to be sure the wrong person isn't convicted. That said and done, it's the firing squad or hanging or needle or whatever method ASAP.

Re: BATFE To Ban Common AR-15 Ammo
I think this round, pun intended, will be short lived. It all happened so quickly as compared to the long drawn out battle that ensued over the threatened action against an entire category of firearms.LDB415 wrote:So I wonder how many months (or years) it will take for supply and prices to recover from the few weeks of foolishness.

I wasn't sure if it was the same error. The Annoyed Man wrote:I posted this on the previous page, 2 days ago.C-dub wrote:http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/03 ... g-mistake/
Now they are claiming it was a publishing mistake that the M855 round was left off the exemption list.

Re: BATFE To Ban Common AR-15 Ammo
Don't they ever listen to themselves?
Isn't this the same reason their president went there? I looks like the only way to Boehner out will be for him to lose in Ohio.“In terms of the institution, I would rather have John Boehner as the Speaker than some of these characters who came here thinking that they're going to change the world,” Pascrell added.

They got caught. I wouldn't expect them to own up to it and say this very thing. Maybe it was an error, but I doubt it.The Annoyed Man wrote:BATF says that was published in error: http://controversialtimes.com/news/brea ... ing-error/Pawpaw wrote:Gee, that's a surprise.maintenanceguy wrote:Looks like the ATF already made their decision. The new 2014 Regulation Guide, released this January no longer list M855 as exempt for sporting purposes. The public comment period on this ban is over March 16th but the ATF already printed the new rule. Looks like they really didn't want to know what we thought.

Re: BATFE To Ban Common AR-15 Ammo
Stuff like this always makes me wonder if someone somewhere didn't tell some friends to buy a whole lotta stock in manufacturer's of whatever and then release to the public that the fed was going to ban it. And then just sit back and watch their portfolio skyrocket.

Re: BATFE To Ban Common AR-15 Ammo
You may be joking just a little there, but if you're serious at all I think you're too late. From what I understand, M855 is already nearly impossible to find and what is left has dramatically gone up in price since this announcement.rbwhatever1 wrote:One would think folks are using M855 ball in Pistols to attack all sorts of "armored stuff" from coast to coast creating much turmoil and mayhem for the Crown. I don't have any M855 but this makes me want to order a few thousand rounds to put in storage with my new Ballistic Vest, braced 223 Pistol and any other item I can think of that has been banned in the Kingdom.
We need to ban the BATFE.

Re: BATFE To Ban Common AR-15 Ammo
Maybe while everyone is trying to snatch up every round of M855 they can find they will ignore the .22LR and that will become easier to find soon.

Oh yeah. I remember in the past thinking that thing must be a bear to fire with the recoil.SRH78 wrote:Of course there is, the Draco.C-dub wrote:Whoa! Where did you get that? I don't see it. Re: BATFE To Ban Common AR-15 Ammo
M855 doesn't even fit with their own definition of AP ammunition.
