It's been over many many times here. Basically, a company can fire you over nothing, but they cannot fire you over anything. There are many protected reasons that one cannot be fired for and if it can be proven that one was a reason for termination or the company is dumb enough to say it then they get what's coming to them.
In my line of work, companies tend to bend over backwards to document every single thing that lead up to someone's termination to avoid wrongful termination lawsuits. I suspect that is common practice among many other industries, but not all.

Re: Private company, ie non-govt, and no gun policy
Oh, I understand that. What I don't understand is why the OP is even asking the question given the circumstances laid out unless he/she does not have a CHL and wasn't aware of the Parking Lot Law/SB321.android wrote:The law answers the question. An employer cannot restrict you from having a gun in your car in the parking lot, CHL or no CHL. If they have such a rule in the handbook, it is out of date and meaningless. If there is no rule, then once again, the law answers the question.C-dub wrote:You're welcome. Your question is still confusing. You ask about the legality of having a gun in a car in a parking lot not owned by a company that doesn't have a policy regarding having weapons in a car in a parking lot they don't own. What am I supposed to answer?smith494 wrote:Extension of domicile, and they don't own the property. I'm not taking it in the office, or office building. Really, where are the boundaries.
Thanks for the informative post, very conducive.
Do you have a CHL? If not, that would have been important information to include in the question.

If the company has no policy, why do you even need to ask the question?
